Risk warning
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
What this means
- Leverage cuts both ways. A small price move against you can cause a large loss, and losses can exceed what you expected. Check whether your account has negative balance protection.
- Most retail CFD accounts lose money. In many countries brokers must publish the percentage of their retail accounts that lose money. Read that figure on the broker's own site before you open an account.
- Costs add up. Spreads, commissions and overnight financing reduce any result.
- Past results don't predict future results. Nobody can promise returns. Offers of guaranteed profits are a warning sign.

If you think you've been scammed
Stop sending money, keep every record (messages, transfers, website addresses) and report it to your local police and your country's financial regulator. Be careful of "recovery" services that ask for a fee to get your money back; regulators warn these are often a second scam.
